PARTY PLANNING
There can be an awful lot to juggle when you are planning a children’s birthday party; booking a venue, entertainment, food, invites and party bags being just a few things to consider.
Here are just a few tips to help you in your planning, if you are thinking of booking with us.
1.Availability
Fill in our enquiry form on our website or email us and we can let you know what dates we have available. We can provisionally hold a date for you for a short time.
2. Venue Hire
Contact venues, such as a church or community hall. Some have online systems which make things easier, but others require an email or telephone enquiry. When you book a venue, you may like to consider size of the venue, ease of access, kitchen provision and parking.
We deliver to ground floor venues only and request that that we can easily access the venue with our van for the purposes of unloading and loading.
3. Party Timings
Lately we have seen more people book children’s parties outside meal times, for example 10am-midday or 2-4pm. This can save you money as well as the time it takes to prepare party food for lots of little people. It also saves on wasted sandwiches and kids only eating the wotsits!
We ask for one hour either side of your party timings to set up and pack away our equipment. Please consider this when you book a venue.
4. Securing a booking
Let us know when you have a venue confirmed. We then ask for a non-refundable deposit and the completion of our online booking form. Please also make sure you are happy with our T&Cs.
5. Final Payment
We confirm party details and provide a final invoice a few weeks ahead of your booking.
This will include the payment for the chosen party package and our delivery fee.
6. Party Day
We will meet you at the venue at the time given to set up your selected package. Once we are set up, we will provide a verbal risk assessment. We then return at the end of your party to pack away our equipment.
Other things to consider my include:
-
Booking multiple activities/entertainers. Often just one things is enough as too many things can be over stimulating to little people on such an exciting day.
-
Setting up/packing away. This can be easier without the party boy or party girl (as well as siblings) in attendance. Divide and conquer if you can!
-
Decorations (check if your venue allows this or has any restrictions in place.
-
Naps. Do you need consider the nap times for your little ones?
-
Recording the day. It's nice if you can ask a family member or friend in attendance to capture the special moments of the day.
-
Music. Check if your venue has a music licence.
-
Party bags. Where do you begin?! Classic with a bit of this and a bit of that, a book, something party themed like a toy car….but always with piece of cake!
